Clean chit to Radha Swami Dera Beas: Giani Gurbachan Singh may take U-turn

Amritsar, Punjab (August 03, 2012): There are reports that Giani Gurbachan Singh is allegedly blamed the Shriomani Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee (SGPC). Actually, Jathedar Akal Takhat is facing criticism from all sides for giving a clean chit to Radhsoami Dera Beas in demolition of Gurdwara in Waraich village in Amritsar therefore he is reporteredly taking U-turn in this matter.
“Denying his role in the case, he said the report he had read was the one prepared by the SGPC. The clean chit had been condemned by the entire Sikh community and Panthic bodies.It is pertinent to mention that the decision on the Gurdwara demolition was to be taken during the meeting of Jathedars of the five Takhts on August 7. However, giving a clean chit in such hurry has raised many eyebrows” reports Punjab Newsline Network (PNN).
The sub-committee constituted to conduct probe into the demolition was headed by Rajinder Singh Mehta. Nirmal Singh and Surjit Singh Garhi were other two members of the Committee. Now reports have emerged that the report does not bear the signature of Garhi, which had raised suspicion.
SGPC’s letter void 23438 dated July 13, 2012 mentions the constitution of a probe panel for demolition of the Gurdwara in Waraich village, condemning the incident. On the one hand, SGPC is condemning the demolition, on the other; it is contradicting itself and giving a clean chit to the Radhasoami sect.
Giani Gurbachan Singh is reported to have remained silent whether the meeting on August 7, 2012 will take any decision on the demolition issue.
As per PNN news report the village panchayat has taken another land from the Dera in lieu of the site where the gurdwara stood earlier and even accepted a payment of Rs 10 lakhs through cheque.
“The cheque number is also mentioned in the report which means it will prove to be an enervating task for the Panthic organisations to accomplish the fact that Dera had forcibly taken the land and demolished the gurdwara”, the news reports adds further.
Meanwhile, the Panthic organizations have called a meeting on August 06, 2012 to decide about next move in this matter. Many Panthic bodies have already dissented with decision taken by Giani Gurbachan Singh. On the other hand Rajinder Singh Mehta has justified the clean chit for Radha Swami Beas cult.
