“CM Sahib, at least listen to your point of view”: Sadda Haq producer to Punjab CM

Chandigarh, Punjab (April 05, 2013): “CM Sahib, at least listen to our point of view”, the producers of Sadda Haq Punjabi Movie asked Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal in wake of ban imposed by the Punjab government on the screening of Sadda Haq Punjabi movie that was to hit cinemas on April 05, 2013.
“Don’t take biased decision after listening to few bureaucrats. You are such a senior politician, how can you decide by listening to one sided point of view?” the producers of the movie have written in a post on Facebook Fans page for Sadda Haq movie.
“Ask your OSD to give Mr. Kuljinder Singh Sidhu an appointment with you”, the post reads further.
Following appeal is posted by the producers of Sadda Haq movie on Facebook Fans page for the movie on April 05, 2013:
APPEAL TO CM PUNJAB
A team of Sadda Haq lead by Kuljinder Singh Sidhu is trying to approach the CM and Deputy CM since yesterday night but till now he is unable to reach any one of them. So all of you please ask following questions to the CM through DC’s of your cities.
Q 1. Why your government has banned ”SADDA HAQ’ In Punjab? Do you think four officers Chief sectary Rakesh Singh, Principal sectary to CM S. K. Sandhu, Principal sectary Home Bains,and ADGP H.S Dhillon are capable to take such a big decision which is directly related to people’s sentiments?
We ask you to make a committee of 50 people today itself which should includes intellectuals, University VC’s, Veteran actors and film makers, senior journalists, leaders of all political and religious parties like Jathedar Akal Takth, SGPC President, head of religious bodies like Damdami Taksal, Nanaksar, Sant Daduwal etc. should watch this movie and whatever decision they will make in a today’s evening show we will accept that.
Q 2. When Censor has approved it after watching it more than 10 times and SGPC, DSGMC, Hindu Surakhia Committee, Siri Durga Mata Mandir Committee has supported this movie that too after watching it then what was so objectionable which can create Law and Order problem in Punjab? Please tell.
Q 3. If it is banned due to Baggi song it is not part of the movie, Media and CM’s team has checked it personally then do they have any other ground to impose this ban?
A few anti social elements wants to create a divide between the two communities(Hindus and Sikhs) and this ban will prove that its they who are ruling the State and it will create hatred among two communities. So please don’t encourage them by imposing this ban.
4. Freedom of expressions is the fundamental right of every Indian citizen then why a movie which presents the view point of minority community has been banned?If we can present the view point of Naxels, Dacoits, Gangster and militant belonging to majority communities then why can’s we present a view point of a militant who belongs to minority community and moreover this movie is a depiction of an era and a fictional story so why this ban on this particular movie?
5. We request Jathedhar Akal Takth, President SGPC, actors and technicians of Punjabi cinema, journalists to ask CM Punjab to lift this ban as there is no such content in this movie which can create law and order problem in Punjab.
