Jalandhar/ New Delhi (August 03, 2014): A day after Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee President Partap Singh Bajwa issued show cause notice against Jagmit Brar for for his utterances Sonia Gandi and Rahul Gadhi, Jagmeet Brar on August 3 hit back at Partap Singh Bajwa and asked him to “stick to the book and constitution of the party”.

“My leader Sonia Gandhi (Congress chairperson) has appointed you (Bajwa) the PCC president and I respect her decision. Please stick to the book and constitution of the party,” Jagmit Brar said in his reply to the notice issued by Partap Bajwa to him.

“Only the Congress general secretary in charge Punjab affairs can issue me a notice of clarification regarding my statements to the media. By writing to me on behalf of Shakeel Ahmed (AICC general secretary), you have committed a technical error,” he said in his reply to Partap Bajwa’s notice.

Jagmeet Brar had created a flutter with his remarks that there was “no harm” if Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi take a two-year break in the wake of the Lok Sabha polls debacle.

Congress’s Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha and former chief minister Amarinder Singh had also criticised Jagmit Brar over his remarks.
