Nawanshahr: Reiterating their demand to sack Gaini Gurbachan Singh and other Takhat Jathedar’s, Dal Khalsa, in a written statement issued today, said that those jathedars have been rejected by large section of the Panth, hence they don’t deserve to remain on seat.
Terming Gurbachan Singh as disgraced Jathedar, party senior activist Kanwar Pal Singh said Akalis should read the writings on wall. “Sikh sangat at large including Five beloved ones (Panj Piyare) have rejected Gurbachan Singh and his other colleagues and their continuation on august seat is affront to Panth”, said he.
He said the silence of Sikhs should not be construed as their weakness and acceptance of disgraced lot . He told the SGPC to show the doors to rejected Jathedars’.
Kanwar Pal Singh was in town to address the meeting of party workers to chalk out the programme to Commemorate the 32nd anniversary of “operation Blue Star”.
He said the members of the Dal Khalsa will hit the streets of Amritsar on June 3- the day army launched its assault on Sikhs assembled at Darbar Sahib in June 1984.
He said “much water has flown down the rivers of Punjab since 1984. There was a change in political leadership with some Sikhs at the helm of affairs both at centre and the state. This however has not healed our wounds of June 84.”
He said the aim of ‘Genocide Remembrance Parade’ was to reiterate the cause for thousands of Sikhs who laid down their lives in 1984 while defending the attack on their faith adding that no issue of Sikhs has been solved till date, he said.
He said the sacrifice of the June 1984 martyrs would never be allowed to go in vain”.
He was accompanied by senior activists Jarnail Singh, Mandhir Singh, Daljit Singh Maula and Manjit Singh.
