Crackdown on Sikh Activists: Sukhbir vitiating atmosphere by mis(using) police machinery, says Dal Khalsa

July 15, 2016 | By

Fatehgarh Sahib: Slamming the state home minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for vitiating the atmosphere of Punjab to get mileage out of it, the Dal Khalsa today termed the police crackdown on the organizers of the march proposed to be taken out from Bhagta Bhai to Bagrari on July 17 against incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib as totally unjustified and unwarranted.

Party head Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema and ex-head Satnam Singh Paonta Sahib said the police action was not legal as the proposed march was neither unlawful nor threat to peace and communal harmony. They blamed the police for acting against the spirit of the law and doing binding of their political masters.

They said the arrested persons include ragi, parcharak’s, religious and political leaders.

They said the ruling Akali Dal was harassing its political opponents in desperation as they had read the writings on the wall. “The people are disillusioned with the ruling party. They had made up their mind to unseat Badals for their follies, inactions and wrongdoings”, said they.

They said ever since the unfortunate incidents of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib has occurred, the present day government has miserably failed in handling the situation wise and mature manner. Rather its stubborn approach and utter failure to unearth the conspiracy and catch the culprits has precipitated the situation, they added.
