There is speculations in media that Yuvraj was in run to secure a BJP ticket for his father Yograj Singh. Notably Yograj had unsuccessfully contested 2009 assembly election from Panchkula Assembly on as an Indian National Lok Dal (INDL)’s ticket.

“Nothing has been decided yet. The next list is expected on September 14 and 15. If Yuvraj wants to contest, our doors are open. If his father gets a ticket, he will campaign for the BJP in Haryana,” The Tribune quotes an unnamed BJP leader as saying.

However Yuvraj Singh has denied any possibility of a political career with the BJP. He recently re-tweeted his sports manager Nishant Jeet Arora’s tweet which said: “Dear friends, just to clarify @YUVSTRONG12 met BJP president Shri Amit Shah to discuss cancer problem in India n wht @YOUWECAN is doing”.
