Curfew continues; Hyderabad clam but tense

Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (May 15, 2014): Three persons reportedly lost their lives in Hyderabad clashes that broke out between Sikhs and Muslims yesterday. According to media reports the deceased were killed due to police firing. On the other hand the police have justified the opening of fire on mobs, saying that the fire was opened to control the situation that was turning uncontrollable.

Bodies of two victims, both in their 20s, were shifted to government-run Osmania General Hospital and the third, aged 38, were taken to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy.

Identity of the victims is not disclosed yet.

As per information more than 15 persons were injured in these clashes. The injured were admitted to the two hospitals.

Relatives of the victims said the police opened fire without using teargas or batons.

As per recent reports from Hyderabad the curfew that was clamped yesterday continues. There were no reports of further violence, however the situation remains tense.
