Cycle rally seeks justice for “Forgotten Citizens” of Nov. 1984

New Delhi: A press release by Aam Aadmi Party leader HS Phoolka reveals that a cycle rally- Largest in Delhi, Starting from Tilak Nagar and going through Raja Garden, Mayapuri Chowk, Dhuala Kaun, Defence Colony, Pragrati Maidan- Bhagwan Dass Road, Mandi House, Barakhamba & Tolstoy Marg, reached at Jantar Mantar on April 11 covering more than 31 kms.

This 31 kms cycle rally is to protest against DENIAL of JUSTICE for 31 years to the humanity and Sikh community in particular. Human Rights Organizations and Sikh bodies would embarked on a unique way of protest by cycling through the streets of Delhi.

The Cycle rally organized on 11th April 2015 were flagged off by Shri Prakash Rao, President, Lok Raj Sangathan and Harinder Singh Khalsa, MP, Lok Sabha.

The rally was led by Shri H.S. Phoolka Senior Advocate alongwith Shri Sandeep kumar Minister, Delhi Government, Shri Janrail Singh, MLA, Tilak Nagar, Shri Jagdeep Singh, MP Hari Nagar, Avtar Singh, MLA Kalkaji and cores of volunteers.

The rally was joined in by members in volunteers of Lok Raj Sangathan, Bachpan Bachao Andolan and other public spirited organizations.

“We will continue our protest in such unique ways till justice is granted. The Police, Investigating agencies, successive Governments and even the judiciary have failed to give justice to the victims and punish the guilty”, said Advocate Phoolka.

He said that it was a Constitutional duty of the Government to ensure that Law of the Land is enforced and the guilty who have committed such a heinous crime are punished.

MODE OF PROTEST

A press release by Advocate HS Poolka further says: “Mr. Phoolka and his team has been using cycling as a medium to make aware different issues to the people in the past too. He headed a cycling team which travelled 100kms against the VVIP culture in Punjab recently”.

“The mode of protest through cycling also emphasizes the need to promote cycling and other non – polluting methods of transport in Delhi, in view of alarming levels of Pollution in Delhi”.

This was largest rally of Delhi (other than cycling events organized by Cycling Federation of India), the press release by HS Phoolka notes further.
