Dal Khalsa Hails 20 Years Sentence to Convicted Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim

August 29, 2017 | By

Jalandhar: Hailing the 20 years ( 10 +10 yrs ) sentence to the cultist baba in a rape case, the Dal Khalsa said he deserved to be remain behind bars for life. The organization believes this decision of the CBI court will gradually lead to an end of this heretical cult.

Party leaders H S Dhami and Kanwar Pal Singh attribute the conviction of state-sponsored cultist baba to judicial activism. “The judiciary at all level has re-asserted its position firmly and delivered justice to the victims”. The bold and upright judge has restored the faith of people in rule of law, which otherwise was shattered by corrupt politicians who believe in ‘law of rulers’. “Gurmit is not alone a culprit. The entire breed of politicians who lined up before him with folded hands begging for votes is equally responsible for precipitating the things”.

There’s a need for thorough judicial investigation into the crimes of Dera Sirsa head including the killing of Balkar Singh in Mumbai by the bodyguards of Ram Rahim in June 2008. “The case needs to be re-investigated as all 14 bodyguards of self-styled godman were acquitted by Mumbai court in April 2011 for lack of evidence”. “Witnesses were scared at that time because of Baba’s direct link with people in power”, they observed.

The conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim must serve as an eye opener for all dera sadh’s who are engaged in immoral acts under the cover of preaching spirituality, they said. We warn the state to learn lessons, stop meddling in religious affairs and end its patronage and support to such sects and self-styled bigots.
