Jalandhar, Punjab (August 12, 2014): To commemorate organization’s 36th foundation day, the Dal Khalsa is holding a Conference on August 13 at Jalandhar on the subject of Azaadi-the only way at local Gurdwara.
Addressing the meeting of its party workers, Kanwar Pal Singh said to reiterate their commitment to the cause of Sikh independence, the organization has decided to observe August 13 as “Azaadi Sankalp Divas.
The activists gathered at local gurdwara to give final touches to the proposed programme. He while talking with media persons said after the conference their activists while carrying banners, flags and placards would march up till Guru Nanak Mission Chowk to convey their message.
He said Muslims got Pakistan on August 14th and Hindus got India on 15th while Sikhs missed the bus. He said since then, Sikhs have been striving for their own Homeland.
He expressed pain and concern on the hate crime attack on Devinder Singh and his mother in New York, USA. He said there was no stopping of such crimes against Sikh people in different parts of the world. He urged the Obama administration to take stringent measures to stop hate crimes against peace-living community and to bring the guilty to book. He also appealed to Gurdwara Committee’s to set up special funds and cells to bring awareness about the distinct identity.
