Hoshiarpur, Punjab (July 07, 2014): To streamline its working and give a new look to the organization, the meeting of senior leadership of the Dal Khalsa has resolved to focus on resurrecting the organization at grass root level and enroll fresh blood in its rank and file.
Launching the membership drive, party head H S Dhami today dissolved the present organizational structure in Punjab and abroad and decided to enroll new members in the group.
He said the new set up will be declared on after 4 weeks during the Conference to be held to mark the 36th foundation day of the Dal Khalsa.
S. Dhami, who was on tour to UK to attend 30th commemoration functions of operation blue star organized by Federation of Sikh organizations has returned back recently. He said Sikh Diaspora was highly concerned about the criminalization of politics and rampant drug abuse in Punjab, which was taking the toll of the younger generation.
He exhorted youth to take up the responsibility of cleansing politics from its current maladies instead of confining themselves to demanding their rights or crying for grievances.
He reiterated that Dal Khalsa was striving for complete independence from the Indian yoke.
Informing about the decision, party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said priority would be to do character building in youngsters on ideological lines. Stressing that the communities future lay with young Sikhs, he said their thrust would be to groom new faces and bring forth talented youth through their platform.
