Shopian, Kashmir (September 13, 2013): According a news by Kashmir Media Service: “[o]n occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (JKSCC) has said that the damage to some houses of minority community in Shopian was done to divert the attention from the death of four civilians”.

The JKSCC Chairman Jagmohan Raina in a media interview in Srinagar said, “We believe that the incident is being deliberately flared up to divert the attention from the death of four civilians.”

Jagmohan Singh Raina headed a delegation to Shopian in the wake of the damage to four houses of the Sikh community by miscreants.

Some local Sikh residents told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that on 10 September a mob had plented stones at the Sikh houses. They said that Sikhs were becoming victims of bad politics in Kashmir.

They confirmed that there had been no other untoward incident as curfew was clamped in Shopian in wake of death of 4 Kashmiri youth in CRPF firing.

As per KMS Jagmohan Singh Raina denounced the death of four civilians terming it as unwarranted. “While we were in Shopian another civilian was killed which is very unfortunate,” he said.

The miscreants who are trying to create a division between the two communities should be brought to book, he demanded.
