Delhi Police commissioner says AAP MLA Jarnail Singh is absconding

New Delhi: Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi today said thatJarnail Singh, Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA from Tilak Vihar, who was booked for allegedly assaulting a MCD engineer, is absconding.
Commissioner BS Bassi said that Jarnail Singh’s anticipatory bail had been rejected.
“Jarnail Singh is absconding at present, I hope he surrenders,” BS Bassi added.
Jarnail Singh was elected from the constituency of Tilak Nagar in West Delhi
It is notable that Delhi Police had booked Jarnail Singh for allegedly assaulting a South Delhi Municipal Corporation engineer and stopping him from carrying out his duty.
Engineer Azhar Mustafa alleged that he had gone to Krishna Park to demolish an illegal construction when Singh along with other residents obstructed the work and bashed him up.
The Tilak Nagar MLA is also accused of tearing up official documents and threatening to frame junior engineer Athar Mustafa in a false corruption case.
