Panchkula: As per media reports, Dera Sauda Sirsa followers turned violent today after dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted in a rape case by a CBI court in Panchkula. The police have reportedly fired in the air and restored to teargas shells and water canons.

As per News reports, Dera followers restored to stone pelting and attempted to put vehicles on fire.

Earlier, the Army units that were kept on standby were deployed in Panchkula after the court verdict went against dera chief.

Violence in Panchkula’s Sector-3. Dera followers reportedly vandalised some cars, reads an update by HT.

Dera provides supporters with freshly cut batons and bats: CNN-News 18 ground report

All the supporters heading out from the Dera headquarters are reportedly carrying freshly made batons and bats. Three layers of security has been deployed outside the Dera headquarters. Tier one contitutes of paramilitary personnel, tier two is manned by Haryana police and tier three is the horse squad of the Haryana police.
