Dera Sauda Sirsa followers serve ultimatum on Punjab government to lift ban from MSG: The Messenger

Firozepur, Punjab: Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s followers have come out openly demanding removal of ban from their godman’s moive MSG: The Messenger of God. The movie, which is termed as a lengthy advertisement by most of the film reviewers, was banned by Punjab government few weeks ago.

It is notable that Dera Sauda chief had recently declared support for the Punjab’s ruling Badal-BJP alliance candidates for civic-bodies polls in Punjab. There were reports in certain sections of media that the support was announced by the controversial godman under a secret deal with the ruling party (Shiromani Akali Dal – Badal) demanding lifting of ban from his controversial movie.

As per information Punjab Political Affairs Committee of Dera Sauda Sirsa submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur demanding lifting of ban imposed on screening of the movie MSG – The Messenger. The memorandum was addressed to the Chief Minister of Punjab.

DSS Dera Premis also served an ultimatum on the Punjab government to lift the ban on the movie by February 26 and in the event of not doing so; the further strategy will be decided by the dera followers.

It is notable that the film critics banged dera sauda sadh Gurmeet Ram Rahim and his movie. Many critics said that it was wrongful to term his production as a “film”.

The headline of review by Rukmini Chopra at BollyWoodLife was “MSG: The Messenger movie review: Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan will test your patience and leave you with a splitting headache!”.

“Verdict: This is probably the first time where I am compelled to give a film a rating as this. 0 star it is for MSG: The Messenger”, Rukmini Chopra wrote in her review.
