Amritsar: Apprehending travel ban on Sikh yatris visiting Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib in West Punjab (in Pakistan) as a precaution against coronavirus outbreak, Akal Takht acting Jathedar on Friday asked the Indian government not to stop the Kartarpur Sahib yatra through Kartarpur Corridor.
“The yatra should not be stopped. Unless the Government of India (GoI) is going to impose a travel ban on all foreign countries, it should not impose any ban on the yatris visiting the Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib” said acting jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh.
He also called upon people to take precautions and pray for saving the world from virus outbreak.
It is notable that the Government of India has suspended crossing of travellers and commodities from Attari-Wagah Joint Check Post at Attari in Amritsar district of East Punjab. (READ MORE).
