On this matter the DSGMC approached SGPC backed jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh for an action against the CM. The representatives of the DSGMC has reportedly said that Giani Gurbachan Singh had assured to take up the matter before the five takhat Jathedars in the next meeting.

It was in May last year that Amarinder Singh had tweeted that 21 Sikhs, who he had prepared to surrender before the then Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, were killed in a fake encounter.

Following this, several Sikh organisations had asked the CM to disclose the names of the deceased so that the victims’ kin should be compensated and the guilty punished, notes The Tribune (TT) in its report.
