Amritsar, Punjab (December 09, 2013): On the occasion of 65th World Human Rights Day, Dal Khalsa will organize a seminar on ‘Endless Wait for Justice in Punjab’ at Gurdwara Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib, Chandigarh on Dec 10.
The seminar will be dedicated to South Africa’s inspirational freedom fighter Nelson Mandela, who passed away a few days back.
Briefing the media, party’s spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said representatives of various human rights bodies besides, Sikh socio-political groups and Sikh intellectual forums would participate in the deliberations pertaining to rights issues. He said the issue of prisoners’ rights, custodial deaths, torture, involuntary disappearances and violations of rights of political dissenters and denial of civil liberties of common citizens would also come in for discussion.
Widening its scope, he appealed to teachers, doctors and farmers to participate in the meet as their rights too were being crushed by the high-handedness of the state authorities.
