New Delhi: Newly elected DSGMC president and a leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today deleted his controversial tweet about Christchurch massacre in which he had tended to put blame on victims.

In a tweet posted yesterday, Manjinder Singh Sirsa had endorsed Australian Senator Fraser Anning’s controversial remarks blaming Muslim immigrants for yesterday’s deadly attack on two mosques in New Zealand. Sirsa’s move had invited strong reactions of the Sikhs, who not only disapproved his comment rather condemned his views strongly.

After this, Manjinder Singh Sirsa today deleted the controversial tweet. In another tweet posted today, he said: “I have always spoken against Jihadi mindset -a theory that advocates killing people in the name of religion. But if my tweet on Senator Fraser Anning’s words hs hurt anyone; I humbly clarify I condemn all sorts of attacks & violence. It was never my intention to hurt any community“.

It is notable that Manjinder Singh Sirsa is sitting MLA of Delhi and he had won bye-election of Delhi State Assembly on Bhartiya Janta Party’s ticket. It is pertinent to mention here that the DSGMC is under the control of SAD (Badal) and Manjinder Singh Sirsa was elected as its president yesterday.
