Ludhiana, Punjab: The Ludhiana police is reported to have detained a Sikh youth in relation to an ongoing inquiry about a firing incident in which few shots were allegedly fire by two unidentified motorcyclists towards a shakha of Hindutva fountainhead Rashtriya Sewayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that a police party led by Inspector Prem Singh, Incharge of CIA staff Ludhiana, picked up Harminder Singh from his Indira Nagar based residence at around 10 am.
The incident of firing had reportedly taken place at a park in Kidwai Nagar area of Ludhiana at around 6:32 am today.
Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that he has talked to the CIA staff police about Harminder Singh’s detention and the police says that the police has held Harminder Singh in relation to an inquiry about the firing incident. He said that Harminder Singh was not formally arrested by the police till this evening.
UPDATE: Harminder Singh was reportedly released by the Ludhiana police at around 8:45 pm (IST) on Jan. 18. Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who was keeping an eye on developments related to arrest and detention of Harminder Singh, has confirmed his release.
