Moga, Punjab (August 25, 2014): Former DGP ParamdeepGill has reportedly joined the Bhartiya Janta Party saying ‘good bye’ to BJP’s Punjab ally Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). Paramdeep Gill joined BJP in the presence of party president Amit Shah at Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir.

Paramdeep Gill, who unsuccessfully contested the 2012 Assembly elections from Moga on Badal Dal ticket, was reportedly feeling “ignored” by Badal Dal.

According to The Tribune: “… soon after the function, when The Tribune talked to Gill, the former DGP hesitated in admitting that he joined the BJP.

“I am in the Akali Dal. It is one and the same thing because both parties are alliance partners. I have not left the SAD” The Tribune quotes Paramdeep Gill.

He said that he was invited to J&K rally of BJP by a former Congress leader who was to join BJP.
