Four SGPC Officials Resign After Executive Decision

Amritsar: Preceding the executive decision of the SGPC for not re-employing  staffers attaining the age of 58 years, following which four of its officials have submitted their resignations with the Sikh body. It is learnt that Joginder Singh, secretary of Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Science and Research Trust, Amritsar; PS Bhatti, Director of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib; Gurinder Singh, Director, Guru Nanak Engineering College, Ludhiana; and college superintendent Harbeant Singh have put in their papers.

As reported by the media SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar stated that as per the executive committee’s decision during its recent meeting, it was decided to relieve officials who were aged 58 years or above. “So, these four officials volunteered to quit,” he added.

Further adding to his statement he said that the posts of director at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College and Guru Nanak Engineering College had now been abolished. SGPC additional secretary Harbhajan Singh Manawa has been given the additional charge of the medical institute. SGPC secretary Dr Roop Singh will look after the affairs of Guru Nanak Engineering College.

Meanwhile, Joginder Singh said he had submitted his resignation a few days ago.
