Ludhiana, Punjab: Senior Advocate and Aam Aadmi Party leader HS Phoolka demanded return of rare manuscripts taken away by Army from Sikh reference library 31 years ago.

In a letter written to the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Phoolka  said that SGPC has raised this issue many times with the Central Government that the Army had taken away rare Sikh Manuscripts from the Sikh Reference Library situated in Harminder Sahib during June 1984 attack and requested for return of these Manuscripts. The SGPC has also claimed these manuscripts in the case filed by it against the Central Government, which is still pending in Delhi High Court.

He further said that now, since the Badal Dal was a part of the Central Government, therefore, the Akali Dal should take up the matter with Defence Minister and the Prime Minister for return of these rare Manuscripts. This is an issue which has been pending since last thirty years and need to be resolved.

However he said that as SAD was in alliance with Central Government he requested Badal to take up the matter with the Central Government for return of these rare Manuscripts.
