Giani Gurbachan Singh takes notice of Sayali’s petition in Delhi High Court

Amritsar, Punjab (October 20, 2013): It is learnt that Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, has taken notice of Delhi resident Jatinder Singh Sayali who had filed a petition in court against Akal Takht’s directives directing former Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) head Paramjit Singh Sarna to withdraw his petition (from Delhi High Court) against proposal of raising Sikh genocide 1984 memorial in Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib.

Recently someone named Jatinder Singh Sayali had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against Giani Gurbachan Singh and others alleging that Akal Takht directive was interference in the course of judicial system of India.

While commenting on the matter Giani Gurbachan Singh said anyone challenging the authority of Akal Takht wouldn’t be allowed to go scot-free.

“Jatinder Singh Sayali will be summoned at Akal Takht soon,” he added.

Reaction on conviction of former Jathedar’s son in Canada:

Giving his reaction on the conviction of Ajai Singh, son of former jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Puran Singh in Canada, Giani Gubachan Singh reportedly said the Ragis or Sikh preachers going abroad or anywhere should give due honour to women and not indulge in activities that brings shame to the whole community.

Ajai Singh, 38, was on October 17 jailed for 90 days by a court in Abbotsford for sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl.

SGPC should ensure Eco-Friendly fireworks:

According to some media reports Giani Gurbachan Singh has asked SGPC to give contract of fireworks show at Darbar Sahib, Amritsar on selected occasions only to that contractor who would ensure pollution-free fireworks for the sake of environment.
