Patna: In a major set-back to India’s ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) the party was able to secure lead on 55 seats only in high stake Bihar Assembly elections.
According to website of the Indian elections commission (at 13:50 IST) trends were available on 240 seats out of 243 seats of the state assembly. Trends show that the grand alliance of Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and Indian National Congress (INC) was heading for two-third majority with lead on 170 seats. JD(U) candidates are leading on 71 seats, RJD on 76 seats while INC candidates are leading on 23 seats.
Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) candidates were 55 seats and it’s ally Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) was leading on 3 seats.
