Chandigarh: As per reports emanating from Jammu and Kashmir four Indian Army personnel, including a Major, were killed on Monday in a gun battle with militants in Pulwama district. Two militants were also killed by the Indian forces during the encounter.
Whereas some media reports say that the identify of the militants killed was yet to be ascertained, other reports say that the militants killed include Abdul Rasheed Ghazi alias Kamran who was considered to be the mastermind of February 14 attack in Pulwama in which more than forty CRPF men were got killed.
“The militants are believed to be linked to the February 14 car bombing,” a defence spokesperson reportedly said.
Police have identified the soldiers killed in gunfight as Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, Havildar Sheo Ram, Sepoy Hari Singh and Sepoy Ajay Kumar.
