Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa appeals to supporters to end their strikes

Amb Sahib/ Mohali (December 25, 2013): According to information, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has issued an appeal to his supporters to end their strike. He issued this appeal shortly before being admitted to Fortis Hospital (Mohali) for medical assistance after announce to end his 42 days long hunger strike with in next two days.

It is notable that many Sikhs were holding solidarity hunger strike/s to extend their supports to Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa who was fasting since November 14, 2013 seeking release of 6 Sikh political prisoners who were kept behind the bars in India beyond the terms of their sentences.

Notably Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa was convinced today by Akal Takht Jathedar to end his hunger strike. Giani Gurbachan Singh reportedly convinced Gurbaksh Singh that the release of Bhai Gurmeet Singh from Burrail jail was an indication that the process of securing release of concerned Sikh political prisoners was under-way therefore he should begin medical treatment.

After holding meeting with Jathedars, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh declared that he would formally end his hunger strike with in next two days, when two Sikh prisoners namely Bhai Shamsher Singh and Bhai Lakhwinder Singh are released on parole.

He has announced a series of functions which would mark the conclusion of Amb Sahib Morcha.
