Amritsar, Punjab: Damdami Taksal (Mehta) head Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has demanded strict action against Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and former Amritsar MP Navjot Sidhu. Hindutva party’s ‘Sikh face’ Navjot Sidhu is accused for committing gross misconduct for distorting a Gurbani Shabad.

In a statement Baba Harman Singh Dhumma, who is also chief of Sant Samaj – a religious ally of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), urged Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to summon Navjot Sidhu at Akal Takht Sahib for committing blasphemy.

Navjot Sidhu a Hindutva propagandist ‘in Sikh turban’ distorted a Shabad of Gurbani during a program in Ludiana. Program was held by Hindutva fountainhead ‘Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh’ (RSS).

The issue was first raised All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) headed by Karnail Singh Peermohammad.

On the other hand Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said the issue will be discussed during next meeting of five Sikh Jathedars.
