Gurdas Mann’s New Song Punjab invites Massive Praise and Strong Criticism over Social Media

Chandigarh: Renowned Punjabi singer Gurdas Mann has come up with with new song “Punjab”. The Song and its music video was released over YouTube by SAGA few days back. The video went viral – inviting praise on the one hand for presenting present day Punjab’s problem. But at the same time the Gurdas Mann has also invited strong criticism for the timing of the release and the content – including but not limited to talking about the problems but not pointing towards those responsible for these problems and his own ‘contribution’ to these problem- especially promoting the use of intoxicants through his songs. He is also being criticised for remaining skipping the tragic events of past- especially the 1947, 1984 and aftermath.
