Amritsar, Punjab: Dal Khalsa has categorically stated that the attack on Dina Nagar police station had nothing to do with Punjab problem or Sikh freedom movement. While expressing grief over the loss of lives during the attack.
Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh lambasted section of (irresponsible) media and certain politicians (at Centre and state level) for falsely attributing the attack to the revival of armed struggle for Khalistan.
“Its preposterous to believe that an attack by unidentified outsiders, (who were non-Punjabi, non-Sikh), would anyway pave the way for revival of the armed movement in Punjab. Its understandable that if at all, at any stage or any point of time in future, there would be return of armed struggle in Punjab then it would be by the people of Punjab and for the rights of people of Punjab, he observed.
We are at pains to watch how politicians and pen pushers were using their so-called analytical wisdom and expertise to malign and damage the image of Sikhs in the eyes of West and international community by clubbing Sikh freedom movement with Jihadi element’s operating trans-borders. He observed that systematic maligning campaign is being unleashed against Sikh hardliners only to show them in bad light. There’s a proverb “call the dog mad and shot him” and this is what Indian state and its hyper active agencies and so-called patriot media persons were doing with Sikhs and other minorities over the years. He further said as expected in the wake of attack the rhetoric had replaced reasoning and the atmosphere had been created in the whole country to lash out against genuine struggle’s of minority people.
