Handicapped person allegedly thrown out of Badals’ Orbit Bus

Ropar: A handicapped person has alleged that he was thrown out of an Orbit company bus near Rangilpur village on Ropar-Chandigarh highway. Talwinder Singh, who is eighty-five percent handicapped from both legs told media-persons that he took an Orbit company bus (PB 03-AJ 7536) on Tuesday at around 4:10 pm from Ropar to Patiala. Talwinder has alleged that the conductor of the bus misbehaved with him when he gave him a 100/- rupees note and demanded a “half-ticket”.

As per Talwinder Singh he also showed his certificate of physical incapacity and a concession bus pass, according to which he was eligible for travel on buses on ‘half-ticket’.

He alleged that the conductor of the bus abuses him and pushed him out of the bus when the bus stopped at Rangilpur village.

It is notable that Orbit buses have been gaining bad-name due to alleged highhandedness of the staff. The bus company was under the eye of storm when a young girl was got killed in Moga after she was allegedly pushed out of bus by the Orbit bus staff. The case is pending before a trial court.
