Amritsar: The pro freedom party of the Sikhs Dal Khalsa here today  reasserted that the hanging of Kashimiri Nationalist Janab Afzal Guru was an indelible stain on India’s democracy. The organization today joins the people of Kashmir in paying humble tributes to Afzal Guru on his fourth martyrdom day.

Party leader Harpal Singh Dhammi in a press note stated that the Indian state killed Afzal Guru secretively 4 years ago.

Furthermore he slammed  the Indian judicial system and political leaders for denying mortal remains of Afzal Guru to his family members till this date. “Like the Kashmiris, we too remember this great son of Kashmir who embraced martyrdom for freedom of his people. Such martyrdom is a blessing of God Almighty and Afzal Guru was a blessed person whose sacrifice would stand tall in the annals of history as a symbol of resistance against Indian repression.”

Moreover he further chastised the lower court verdict which had based its judgement on circumstantial evidence and the highest Court order which relied on post-facto sentiments as the basis to hang Afzal Guru.  He recollected how shockingly,  the court judgment went on to say that “The incident, which resulted in heavy casualties, had shaken the entire Sub Continent and the collective conscience of society will only be satisfied if capital punishment is awarded to the offender.
