Surrey, Canada: Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) unit have arrested another accused in Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s assassination case. Amandeep Singh, 22, an Indian citizen is fourth person arrested by police.
As per reports in Canadian media, Amandeep, a resident of Brampton, Ontario is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He has been in custody since November on unrelated charges. As per media reports, Amandeep is believed to be one of the armed men who opened fire on Nijjar as he was leaving the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Surrey, B.C. on June 18, 2023.
On May 3, the IHIT had announced the arrest and charging of three suspects, namely 22-year-old Karan Brar, 22-year-old Kamalpreet Singh, and 28-year-old Karanpreet Singh, all residents of Edmonton.
