Amritsar, Punjab (February 11, 2013): As per certain media reports Hindu organizations including Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Shiv Sena (Bal Thakrey)  today protested against delay in execution of a Sikh political prisoner Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who was sentenced to death in connection with the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

As per information information activists of these organizations burnt the effigy of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.

They demanded that the Bhai Rajoana should be hanged at the earliest like Afzal Guru and his hanging should not be delayed any longer.

As per information a group of VHP men gathered at the Hall Gate and raised slogans against the terrorism. They said that Rajoana is as dangerous as was the Afzal guru and he attacked the very unity and integrity of the country.

Yogesh Mahajan, VHP chief reportedly said that they would keep protesting untill Rajoana was hanged to death.

Hindutva activists praised CM Beant Singh and criticized Rajoana for his role in assassination of Beant Singh.

They said despite the death sentence by the Court Rajoana was in jail and had not been hanged as per the orders.

If the governments will remain mute spectators to the perpetrators of the violence, the problems of this country cannot be resolved, Mahajan reportedly added.

It is notable that Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana had openly admitted his role in assassination of CM Beant Singh. In his hand written letters to the trial court he had expressed no faith in Indian state system including the judiciary.

Bhai Rajoana made it clear that they had assassinated Beant Singh as he had unleashed the region of state-terror on civilian Sikh population.

It is notable that Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana is in jail for last 17 years and is currently confined in Central Jail, Patiala.
