Jalandhar, Punjab (May 06, 2014): Hindutva preacher and Yoga-guru Baba Ramdev has committed yet another blunder and landed himself in trouble.
As per information an F.I.R has already been registered against him at Jalandhar (Punjab) for hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs. Police Station Division No. 4 (Jalandhar) has reportedly registered the F.I.R. under section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code.
During one of his Yoga and “Nation Building” camps in Punjab Baba Ramdev place a portraite of tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji on the floor while he himself sat on the stage. Sikh organizations took serious note of Ramdev’s act.
According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the FIR has been lodged by a Jalandhar resident Harpreet Singh.
According to media reports the photograph of Ramdev’s camp where he place portrait of Guru Gobind Singh Ji on floor while himself sitting on the stage, is of a Yoga and “Rashtra Nirman” camp of Ramdev held recently at Talwandi Sabo.
It is pertinent to mention here that the objectionable photograph has been doing rounds on the social media since Sunday and people have been criticizing Baba Ramdev for what they termed an act of blasphemy.
According to YesPunjab.Com “[v]arious Sikh organizations led by Jagjit Singh Gaba, Tajinder Singh Pardesi, Harpal Singh Chadha, Gurmeet Singh and others collectively burnt the effigy of Baba Ramdev at Jalandhar on Monday before they proceeded to get an FIR lodged against the Baba”.
It is pertinent to note that various cases at different places have already been registered against Ramdev for his anti-Dalit remark which he purportedly gave to hit Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He had termed that Rahul had been going to the houses of dalits for ‘honeymoon’ and ‘picnic’.
