Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party leader and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Advocate H. S Phoolka has written to Bar Council of Delhi that he has been designated as Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly which has the status of Cabinet Minister and hence he has stopped his practise as an Advocate Completely.

However, H. S. Phoolka has written to the Bar Council that he is handling the cases of November 1984 violance against Sikhs since past 30 years pro- bono and is closely associated with this cause.

HS Phoolka has sought permission of Bar Council to allow him continue appearing only in November 1984 related cases which he will do without charging any fee at all.

Till the Bar Council grants permission, Phoolka will be present in the Court during the hearing of 1984 cases and will guide the team of lawyers. Today also he was present in Kakardooma Court in Tytler’s Case while Ms Prabhsahay Kaur advocate appeared for victims.

Notably, the official press release of the Aam Aadmi Party issued today in this regard used the term “riots” and “anti-Sikh riots” for the events of November 1984 Sikh Genocide.
