Hyderabad, India (October 07, 2013): It is learnt that the Hyderabad Sikhs protested against the attack on a Sikh Gurudwara Sahib in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh and sacrilege of the sacred Sikh scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji besides attack on Sikh Sewadars by anti-social elements. Sikhs reportedly staged a protest demonstration at Gurudwara Sahib Ameerpet in Hyderabad on Sunday (October 06).
Sikhs, holding placards and black flags, gathered in large numbers at the Ameerpet Gurudwara and demanded the arrest of the attackers and stringent action against them.
President of Gurudwara Sahib Ameerpet S Darshan Singh said anti-social elements threw stones on the Gurdwara Saheb in Vizianagaram and a few of them even barged into the shrine and abused the priest there in a filthy language.
“Attacking a religious place which has nothing to do with the ongoing agitation is very unfortunate,” he said.
President of Gurudwara Sahib Barambala, Sikh Chawniat, Attapur, S. Harbans Singh appealed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to ensure that the attackers are arrested and punished.
