India: Two tribal girls raped in Agartala (Tripura)

Agartala, Tripura: India has alarming rate of crimes against women. As per reports two minor tribal girls were raped at Daishyaramchowdhurypara, a remote tribal hamlet in Tripura’s Dhalai district.

As per infomation released by the local police two tribal girls of about 15-16 years of age were raped by two tribal youths in a jungle at Daishyaramchowdhurypara in the early hours of October 11. The incident reportedly took place when the victims were returning after attending a marriage ceremony.

Inspector General of Police (Police Control), Nepal Das said that the victims could identify the rapists.
