Indian Authorities Confiscate Passport of Dal Khalsa Chief Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema Delhi Airport

New Delhi: The Indian authorities today confiscated passport of the Dal Khalsa chief Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. He was returning from Thailand after attending an event on the “Role of Religious Leaders in Prevention of Genocide in South Asia“. The event was organised by the Untied Nations on November 29 and 30 in Thailand.

Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh informed Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that upon Bhai Harpal Singh’s arrival at IGI Airport in Delhi  at around 1 pm, the immigration authorities withheld him and his passport was seized.

“Immigration officer told Bhai Harpal Singh that his passport was confiscated as per directions of the Government of India”, said Kanwarpal Singh, while adding that the their party president was allowed to leave the premises after about 2 hours of detention.

On being asked about reasons behind confiscation of passport the immigration authorities told Bhai Harpal Singh to contact passport office, he added.
