New Delhi: Following the foot steps of his former team mate and controversial Hindutva propagandist Virendra Sehwag, yet another Indian Cricketer and Hindutva sympathiser Gautam Gambhir here today while twitting on his twitter account has said that “for every slap an Indian soldier faces…at least a 100 jihadi lives” must be taken.
For every slap on my army’s Jawan lay down at least a 100 jihadi lives. Whoever wants Azadi LEAVE NOW! Kashmir is ours. #kashmirbelongs2us

His statement came in the back drop of a video which has gone viral on the internet in which some Kashmiri locals from Srinagar area can be seen manhandling CRPF personnels, who were in the area to carry out the election process for Srinagar Lok Sabha by-election. From the past one week valley is witnessing a strong boycott of the electoral proceeding as Srinagar constituency register on 6 % of voter turn out.
This is not the first time that such an irresponsible statement has been given by a member of elite section of Indian society. Last year in October so called ‘security expert’ and retired Indian Army officer Anil Kaul on Rajya Sabha TV channel openly propagated the killing of familiy members of the Kashmiri militants on the pattern of what Former DGP KPS Gill did during Sikh militancy in Punjab.
Furthermore, the DGP of Jammu & Kashmir police last month (8th March) in an open threat to target the family members of the Kashmiri militants stated that the militants should think about the safety of their own families. In addition to this the Indian Army Chief in February in which he stated that those coming to encounter site for pelting stones at army personnels will be dealt with full force and will be considered as “Anti-Nationals”.
Notably the Hurriyat Conference last month (17th March) in a statement maintained that the killing of minor girl namely Kaneeza (9) and a minor boy Faisal (6) near an encounter site in Kupwara was a direct fallout of the aforesaid statement given by he army chief.
