Indian Supreme Court tells HSGMC, SGPC to appear before it today

New Delhi, India (August 07, 2014): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Supreme Court of India (SCI) has asked the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) and Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC – ad hoc) to appear before it at 2 p.m. to state their position on a petition challenging the validity of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Managament) Act 2014.

An SCI bench headed by Chief Justice R.M. Lodha asked the representatives of both committees to appear before it observing that it cannot pass an order without hearing them.
