Indians, Punjabis abducted in Mosul (Iraq) killed by ISIS, claims media report

New Delhi, India: A news reported by ABP (Sanjha) maintained that 39 out of 40 Indians, mostly Punjabis, abducted in Mosul (Iraq) by ISIS operatives are dead now. They were kidnapped by ISIS back in June and there was no information on their whereabouts.

ABP (Sanjha) news channel maintains that the only person to escape death clenches of ISIS is Harjeet, a resident of Kala Afghana village in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. ABP (Sanjha) journalist Jaswinder Patial reportedly visited Erbil in Iraq, where he met Bangladeshi workers Shafi and Hassan who were among 51 Bangladeshi workers abducted by ISIS. These Bangladeshi workers were abducted with 40 Indian and Punjabi workers. ISIS reportedly released Bangaldeshi workers, while it killed Indian and Punjabi workers.

Shafi and Hassan said that Harjit was also shot by ISIS but he survived and managed to escape. They claimed that Harjit was injured and introduced himself as Bangladeshi worker ‘Ali’. He manged to reach Erbil, they added.

Harjit is reportedly in contact with his family in Gurdaspur. According to ABP (Sanjha) Indian High Commissions was aware of the killings and Harjit has reported the incident to the Indian High Commission.

On the other hand Harjit’s family members told media that they last talked to Harjit in August. Indian officials say they are verifying the contents of news reported by ABP (Sanjha).
