Amritsar: All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) president Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad has demanded an independent probe to find out the role of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishav Hindu Parishad and other Hindutva outfits in incidents of beadbi of Guru Granth Shaib in Punjab.
Addressing a press conference in Amritsar, Peer Mohammad said those arrested in connection with the beadbi of Quran at Malerkotla had confessed to their association with the Hindu right-wing organisations—Vishwa Hindu Prishad and Bajrang Dal, but that information was suspiciously snubbed by the police.
“The police did not pick the clues. The role of these groups in the sacrilege of the Quran and Guru Granth Sahib needs to be probed,” he said.
He also criticised the acting jathedars appointed during Nov. 10, 2015 Panthic gathering at Chabba for their alleged “failure” in doing enough on this count.
