Jagmeet Singh NDP to be honoured by Toronto Sikhs for his efforts regarding Sikh Heritage Month

Toronto/ Ontario, Canada (May 07, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Toronto Sikh sangat shall be honouring Jagmeet Singh NDP on May 11, 2014. Jagmeet Singh is Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) from Bramalea Gore Malton constituency.
It may be recalled that Jagmeet Singh NDP had introduced the Bill in the Ontario Legislature calling on the month of April to be recognized as Sikh Heritage Month. The Bill was officially passed in December, 2013.
The Sikh Heritage month was observed for the first time in Ontario in April 2014.
The organizers of the 11 May program told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that Jagmeet Singh shall be honoured by the Sikh sangat of Toronto at Gurdwara Jyot Parkash (Toronto) for his services towards the promotion of Sikhism in general, and for his efforts regarding introduction of Sikh Heritage Month in particular.
