Jammu & Kashmir DGP Warns of Hunting Down Militants’ Families

Srinagar: In an open threat to target  family members of Kashmiri militants DGP of the Jammu and Kashmir police said today stated that the militants should think about the safety of their own families. As per media reports he was reacting to reports of an alleged militant attack on the house of police officer.

The media further reported the police chief saying that  “This is between police and militants,  families should not be brought into this conflict.”

The warning refers to an attack in South Kashmir’s Shopian on a police officer’s home. The militants reportedly barged in, held the officer’s family hostage and also vandalized the home. They demanded that the officer quit his job, say media reports.

“But let me tell you militants must realise they also have families. They don’t join militancy with  the permission of families. If police starts doing this what will happen to their families?” DGP Vaid was quoted by the media saying.

It is not the first time that such an intimidating statement has been given by the bureaucrat of the Indian State and its establishment. In September last year Anil Kaul a so-called ‘security expert’ during a panel discussion on the Rajya Sabha TV  channel pertaining to the Uri attacks strongly advocated the killing of Kashmiri civilians on the same pattern in which KPS Gill executed relatives of terrorists (militants) in Punjab and it brought and end to the terrorism (movement).

He is of the belive that it can be done by using the DNA of the slain militants to track and hunt down their respective families.
