Japanese Ambassador Visit Darbar Sahib; Says Japan Keen on Business with Punjab

Amritsar, Punjab: Japanese ambassador to India Kenji Hiramatsu on Monday (June 17) visited Darbar Sahib in Amritsar during visit to Punjab. He also interacted with businessmen and government officials to see more Japanese companies investing in the state and Punjab government offering them incentives. Hiramatsu was on his maiden visit to Amritsar along with his wife Patricia Clara Aguado Hiramatsu.

“I like to have more interaction with business people and government officials. Our government and businesses in Japan are very much keen to invest in Punjab. We need more collaboration between Japan and Punjab and I would like to see more Japanese companies investing here and be partner with Punjabi business community,” said the ambassador in a brief interaction with the media.

He said they were waiting for the Punjab government to announce facilities, infrastructure and incentives for the Japanese companies. Hiramatsu said he would also like to see cooperation in the area of culture and wanted Japanese tourists to visit Punjab.

He said he had already met Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh to discuss collaborations with Japan and Punjab.
