Amrisar, Punjab (December 24, 2013): It is learnt that Giani Gurbachan Singh (Jathedar, Akal Takht), Giani Mal Singh (Jathedar, Takht Kesgarh Sahib), Giani Jagtar Singh (Head Granthi, Sachkhand Darbar Sahib), Giani Maan Singh (Granthi, Sachkhand Darbar Sahib) and Giani Ravel Singh (Granthi, Sachkand Darbar Sahib) have issued an edict (Adesh) to Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa to end his fast unto death.

Five Singh Sahibs who reportedly held a meeting at Akal Takht secretariat in Darbar Sahib complex, Amritsar. They have issued a written and singed order directing Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa to end his fast.

Considerable portion of the letter / order has been allocated to the praise of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal, Punjab Government and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) for their ‘efforts’ to secure release of Sikh political prisoners.

It is notable that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh is on hunger strike since November 14, 2013 to secure release of 6 Sikh political prisoners. So, far only one of them (Bhai Lal Singh) is released on parole of 6 weeks. But is must be remembers that it’s the 21st release of Bhai Lal Singh on parole.

None of the other five persons is granted parole so far, though the chances of release of 3 Sikh prisoners in Burrail Jail on parole are reportedly high.

It is interesting to note that Giani Gurbachan Singh who was terming hunger strike as not-permissible mode of struggle in Sikhism is now saying that he was always a supporter of the struggle initiated by Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa.
