Amritsar, Punjab (January 01, 2014): Dal Khalsa leaders remembered Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunka on his 21st martyrdom day today and urged Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to use his influence over the Punjab government to the killers of former Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaonke are brought to justice.

The organisation has also asked CM Parkash Singh Badal to make public the report of commission constituted by Punjab Government on 5 June 1998.

It is notable that Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaonke was arrested by the Punjab police on 20 December 1992 and was tortured to death on January 01, 1993. But the police had concocted a story that he had escaped the custody.

Dal Khalsa leader Satnam Singh Paunta Sahib said in a statement that the Badal Government had formed a single member inquiry commission led by (ADGP) B.P. Tiwari in June 1998. The commission had submitted it’s report in 1999, which was never made public by the Badal Government.

Dal Khalsa leader said that by sitting over the Tiwari commission report, Pakash Singh Badal and his government has committed murder of justice.
