J&K Sikh Delegation meets Geelani, Mirwaiz

Srinagar: A delegation of All Party Sikh Coordination Committee yesterday met the Senior Hurriyat leaders, including Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, separately.

As per reports in Kashmiri media Syed Ali Geelani said that Sikhs and all minorities are safe in Kashmir and he also stressed on the paths of brotherhood at all cast under the extreme conditions of the Valley.

Mirwaiz said “Sikhs living in village and remote areas are bold enough to face the odd situation and we are proud of it, although my party is in continuous touch with the leaders of various districts of J&K for the well being of minorities.”

APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that during the meeting both the leaders appreciated the role of Sikh community during the turmoil and said that Sikhs should remain vigilant to the act of anti social elements.

Despite of the odds, including Chattisinghpora and Mehjoor Nagar, Sikhs did not leave the valley and shared all sorrows and joys with majority community, even today when whole valley is burning and paralyzed.

APSCC said that on ground zero we are closely monitoring the situation and urged that during such war-like situation, we should help each other without cast, color and creed, so that we can minimize the suffering of each other.

APSCC delegation included Pardeep Singh, Davinder Singh, Karan Singh and Bali.
