Tarn Taran/ Amritsar: A case was registered today against controversial Noormehal dera – Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan (DJSS) followers for opening fire on Sikhs village Jagatpur in Tarn Taran district. Dera Noormehal followers and the police had injurred 13 Sikhs in firing at village Jagatpur yesterday. The Sikhs were objecting to anti-Sikh activities of DJSS and it’s followers.
The police registered FIR number 234 (dated: 28-10-2014) at police station Sadar Tarn Taran, under sections 307, 324, 323, 506, 148 and 149 and Arms Act 25, 54 and 59. The FIR has been registered on the statement of Damdami Taksal (Ajnala faction) head Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala.
The police man who had opened fire has been booked along with around 30 DSJJ followers who have been named under the FIR.
As per information two of the injured Sikhs were operated at Amandeep Hospital at Amritsar while others are undergoing treatment at a Tarn Taran hospital.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh and other Sikhs leaders today met the injurred Sikhs. They condemned the incident and demanded action against the guilty cops and DSJJ followers.
